What exactly is Melatonin?
We produce
Melatonin abundantly throughout our early years. It is our natural night cap.
A natural hormone, it is produced at night by the pineal gland. The release
of Melatonin is stimulated by the dark and inhibited by the light. However,
as we grow older the level of Melatonin released by our pineal gland decreases.
Its release is regulated and responds to the amount of light hitting our eyes
and keeps us in sync with the rhythm of the day. Hence its use to combat jet

Is it
safe?
Clinical
studies to date indicate that there are no serious side effects and it is considered
by some to have no toxicity whatsoever. However, the studies need to run a lot
longer to firmly declare Melatonin to be one hundred percent safe. Claims that
it is a 'Wonder Drug' have to wait until the full studies have been done and
the results of continuous use of many years are in. Until that time if you have

Are
there any side-effects in taking Melatonin?
The most
common side effect appears to be drowsiness during the first few days of taking
